How it works
- 1Softening tank. Resin captures the calcium and magnesium in your water as it enters the house, so scale stops building up in pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- 2Carbon tank. Softened water then flows through its own bed of coconut-shell carbon, which takes out chlorine, chloramine, and the tastes and smells they cause.
- 3Brine regeneration. Typically about once a month, the valve recharges the resin with salt water from the brine tank and rinses the carbon tank clean.
